LewAllen Galleries is pleased to announce an exhibition of new works by Sharon Booma, in an exhibition entitled The unsaid thought.
This exhibition features a new body of work created using oil paint, acrylic, cold wax, fluid washes, poured pigments, silkscreen elements, and collage. Booma applies these diverse media to build up the physical surface of each canvas. Her process involves applying media with brayers, squeegees, and brushes, and subsequently scraping, etching, and gouging the surface with hand tools to expose underlying layers of paint and collage. Booma’s unique technique utilizes pentimento, making earlier stages of the painting process visible beneath the final surface.
The exhibition goes on view opening Friday, August 7 and remains on view through September 5, 2026.
