Abstract by Andrew Fisher

Andrew Fisher creates luminous gilded tapestries and sculptures, seamlessly blending his sculptural practice with an imaginative approach that incorporates precious metals. Fisher uses canvas, steel, and paper to create his intricately sewn tapestries, which he paints and gilds with 24-karat gold. With a sophisticated approach to surface, his finely detailed works glimmer with intricate textures that, at close range, delight the eye, and at a distance, collect into magnificent flourishes of glowing light. His oeuvre also features dramatic sculptures in steel and brass, also gilded with 24-karat gold.

Living and working in San Francisco and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Fisher earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in Sculpture, Drawing and Metal Arts from the California College of the Arts. His studio practice includes painting and sculpture, as well as the design and construction of extraordinary furniture and light fixtures. He has also achieved wide recognition for his achievements in interior design, including recognition from Elle Décor, which includes his firm Fisher Weisman in its “A-List” of the world’s top designers.
